I confirm I have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year year and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past 4 years to the Merchant Navy Association. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council tax do not qualify. I also understand the MNA charity can reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I gave. HMRC has asked us to remind you that you must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax we reclaim on your donations in the tax year.

The Direct Debit Guarantee

This guarantee is offered by all Banks and Building Societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits

If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, CAF Re Merchant Navy Association will notify you ten working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request CAF Re Merchant Navy Association to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.

If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by CAF Re Merchant Navy Association or your Bank or Building Society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society. If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when CAF Re Merchant Navy Association asks you to do so.

You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by writing to your Bank or Building Society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also send a copy of your letter to us.
